The Founder
Behind this firm is someone who will listen to you
I'm Sylvia De La Vega, attorney and founder of this firm. I built it for one simple reason: I've watched too many families in our community face the law frightened, with no one to explain what's happening in their own language. I wanted something different — a place where a family can walk in worried and leave feeling understood, respected, and not alone.
Why I do this work
I know what families in our community feel when the system speaks in English, in words no one stops to explain. That gap — between what the law says and what a family actually understands — is the one I've chosen to spend my career closing. Not as a cold formality, but by sitting down with you, in your language, until things make sense.
Why I founded this firm
I saw too many people from our community feel small in front of an attorney, a document, a courtroom. Signing things they didn't understand. Staying quiet out of fear of asking. I founded De La Vega Law Firm for the opposite reason: so that you understand every step, in your own language, without being rushed and without any fine print. Here you are not a case number. You are a person, with a family and a story.
How we work with you
We listen first. Before we talk about the law, we want to understand what happened to you and what you need. We explain your options in plain words, we tell you the truth even when it isn't what you hoped to hear, and we fight for you with everything we've got. We serve you in both Spanish and English, with the same closeness in each. And in personal injury and property damage cases, we work on the principle of no win, no fee: if we don't win your case, you don't pay us.
How we can help
Our firm stands with Florida's Hispanic families in three areas: immigration, when what's at stake is your future and your loved ones'; personal injury, when someone has been hurt and needs to recover with dignity; and property damage, when your home or business has suffered and things aren't being made right the way they should be. In every one of them, your peace of mind comes first.
Close to you, in three cities
Our flagship office, newly opened, is in Miami (11398 W Flagler St, Suite 108, FL 33174). We also welcome you in Sarasota and in Arcadia. We're where our people are, so that speaking with an attorney isn't a long trip or a cold errand, but something close and human.
